Security and compliance Expert

Einar Mykletun Einar Mykletun, Ph.D., is the security and compliance architect within R&D at Quest Software. In this role, he serves as the R&D in-house security expert, advising on a variety of issues ranging from risk analysis of product architectures and cryptographic solutions, to providing code samples and producing both internal and customer-facing product security documentation. Einar also supports Quest Public Sector in conjunction with government customers’ security and certification concerns; assists with conference calls and visits with customers (often with the customer’s technical security team); and acts as a bridge between Public Sector and R&D for security and compliance related matters. Einar’s compliance expertise includes FDCC, FIPS 140-2, FISMA, Common Criteria and IPv6. His work on FISMA has garnered industry recognition for Quest.

Prior to joining Quest in 2006, Einar performed computer security research, specifically focusing on encryption and authenticity within outsourced databases and wireless sensor networks. He is the co-author of written work presented and published in internationally recognized computer security conferences and journals. Einar holds a doctorate in computer science, with a focus on applied cryptography, from the University of California, Irvine.
