Public Folder Migrator for SharePoint

SharePoint 2003 and 2007 Support

Supports migrations to SharePoint 2003 and 2007 technologies - SharePoint Portal Server (SPS), Windows SharePoint Services v2 (WSS v2), Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) and Windows SharePoint Services v3 (WSS v3).

Automatic Content Migration

Migration of public folder content from Exchange to SharePoint is performed automatically. The migration process is controlled with a wizard to create migration jobs for which you select the migration scenario, the source Exchange folder and target SharePoint object, and other configuration options.

Out-of-the-Box Mapping Templates

Public Folder Migrator provides mapping templates that enable you to map the structure and contents of source public folders to SharePoint. Utilize custom list templates that allow you to map and preserve the most important properties of the source items.

Permission Mapping

Public Folder Migrator can automatically map security permissions from the source public folders to the target SharePoint sites and lists using canned mapping rules. Select whether to apply permissions when configuring a migration job.

Built-in Migration Scenarios

Public Folder Migrator offers three types of built-in migration jobs that enable a wide variety of migration scenarios to preserve the public folders content, hierarchy and security. You can configure your migration jobs as follows: 1. migrate a public folder to a list; 2. migrate a public folder tree to a document library; 3. migrate a public folder tree to a site.

Flexible Scheduling Options

Flexible scheduling options for the migration process are available. Each migration job is assigned a processing migration agent. By default, the agent service on a computer with Public Folder Migrator is scheduled to always run, and therefore all enabled migration jobs assigned to that computer are executed immediately. Modify the agent’s schedule, for example, to perform migration during off-peak hours.

User Redirection

After the migration completes, you can choose to redirect users accessing migrated public folders in Microsoft Outlook to the corresponding target object on SharePoint. For instance, if a Contacts folder has been migrated to a contacts list on a SharePoint site and redirection is enabled, users will see the target list in the right pane when they select the source public folder in Outlook.
